I don’t know if they list book lovers as a category on dating sites or not, but it should be. Someone who is a true book lover has some very unique qualities about them. You may have never thought about it before, but there are some excellent reasons to date a book lover.
- Gifts are easy. What should you get them for their birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day? Something with a cover and pages in between. It’s always the same answer. They’ll be delighted every time.
- You’ll always have something to talk about. If you run out of conversation, all you have to do is ask, “What are you reading at the moment?” or “What are your favorite books?” Either of these is sure to put a spark in their eyes and ignite the conversation for the rest of the evening.
- They won’t mind if you’re late. It’s still a good idea to call and let them know if you’re going to be running late, but it generally isn’t going to be an issue with them. It just means they get to start on the next chapter while they wait.
- They love to share. Book lovers love to share the treasures that they find between the covers, with a stipulation of course. They do want them returned to them when you’re done. And don’t accept a book on loan out of politeness, with no intention of reading it. That would be an insult. Besides, they will be continually pestering you to finish it, so they can pass it on to someone else.
- Book nights are cheaper than movie nights. Any book lover will tell you that books are always better than movies. A book lover will be quite happy to spend an evening reading together with a bowl of homemade popcorn, instead of sitting in a movie theater.
- You’ll know who they’re snuggled up with at night. A true book lover will generally prefer the company of a good book to just about anyone or anything.
- They’re romantics. Guys or gals, it doesn’t matter, if they’re a book lover, chances are they’re a romantic. They love sappy cards and love songs.
- Their knowledge is always expanding. Each book they read takes them to new places and teaches them about new things. They’re bound to a larger grasp of geography and history than most people. They’ll have insights into all kinds of professions and lifestyles. They’ll be able to converse intelligently with almost anyone, should they have a mind to.
- Their best friends are easy to get along with. Any book lover will tell you that their best friends are their books. They usually care at least one with them, wherever they go. They’ll stay quietly tucked away and not make a sound, but will always be ready to add solace when needed.
- Because you’re one. This just makes sense, doesn’t it? Book lovers should date book lovers. You understand each other. You will have so much in common. Why try to develop a relationship with someone who isn’t going to appreciate your books, and your love of them?
Book lovers are great people with many fine qualities. If you are one, keep your eyes open for another one. You’ll make a perfect match.
